Take Advantage of Your FSAFEDS Benefits by December 31, 2024

The 2024 benefit period is almost over. Now is a great time to take inventory of any eligible planned expenses in 2024. You may carry over unused funds up to $640 into the 2025 plan year, but you must re-enroll in a 2025 Health Care Flexible Spending Account (HCFSA) or Limited Expense Health Care FSA (LEX HCFSA) to be eligible for this benefit. If you do not plan on re-enrolling in an HCFSA or LEX HCFSA, be sure to incur any remaining expenses before December 31, 2024. If you are enrolled in a DCFSA, you may continue to incur new eligible expenses until March 15, 2025. Log in to your account at www.FSAFEDS.gov and check your balance today.

You Have Options
Even if you are not able to spend your remaining balance before December 31, 2024, you have options to help minimize the risk of losing funds.

  • Health Care FSA and Limited Expense Health Care FSA - up to $640 is available for carryover for the 2024 plan year, but you must re-enroll in a 2025 HCFSA or LEX HCFSA to be eligible for this benefit.
  • Dependent Care FSA - you can incur expenses through March 15, 2025 and apply those amounts against your 2024 balance.

Submit Your Claims

  • All HCFSA and LEX HCFSA claims for expenses incurred in the 2024 benefit period must be submitted no later than April 30, 2025.
  • All DCFSA claims incurred from January 1, 2024 - March 15, 2025 must be submitted no later than April 30, 2025.
