Take Advantage of Your FSAFEDS Benefits by December 31, 2021

The 2021 benefit period is almost over. Now is a great time to take inventory of any eligible planned expenses in 2021. New legislation has temporarily changed carryover limits and deadlines for 2021 Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). Due to the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA), unlimited carryover is available for the 2021 plan year, but you must re-enroll in a 2022 Health Care Flexible Spending Account (HCFSA) or Limited Expense Health Care FSA (LEX HCFSA) to be eligible for this benefit. If you do not plan on re-enrolling in an HCFSA or LEX HCFSA, be sure to incur any remaining expenses before December 31, 2021. If you are enrolled in a DCFSA, you may continue to incur new eligible expenses until December 31, 2022. Log in to your account at www.fsafeds.com and check your balance today.

You Have Options
Even if you're not able to spend your remaining balance before December 31, 2021, you have options to help minimize the risk of losing funds.

• Health Care FSA and Limited Expense FSA - due to the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA), unlimited carryover is available for the 2021 plan year, but you must re-enroll in a 2022 HCFSA or LEX HCFSA to be eligible for this benefit.
• Dependent Care FSA a?? due to the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA), you can incur expenses through December 31, 2022 and apply those amounts against your 2021 balance.

Submit Your Claims

• All HCFSA and LEX HCFSA claims for expenses incurred in the 2021 benefit period must be submitted no later than April 30, 2022.
• All DCFSA claims incurred from January 1, 2021 - December 31, 2022 must be submitted no later than April 30, 2023.
