What is HIPAA?
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, or more commonly known as HIPAA, addresses the security and privacy of health data. HIPAA helps ensure that all medical records, medical billing, and patient accounts meet certain consistent standards with regard to documentation, handling and privacy.
HIPAA requires that all patients are able to access their own medical records, correct errors, and be informed of how personal information is shared and used. This includes your Health Care FSA and Limited Expense Health Care FSA under the FSAFEDS Program.
