Most Popular Questions

I received my reimbursement in the form of a check and forgot about it. Can I still deposit the check into my bank account?

That will depend on the date the check was issued, If the check is:

  • Less than 180 days from the issued date, yes, the check can be cashed or deposited into your bank account.
  • More than 180 days from the issued date, no, the check can NOT be cashed or deposited because it is considered voided. You will need to contact FSAFEDS to see if it can be reissued.

Reissuing the Check:

  • If you contact FSAFEDS during the open benefit period, they can reissue the check for the same amount.
  • If FSAFEDS discovers that a check more than 180 days past the issued date has not been cashed, they will contact you via the FSAFEDS Secure Message Center and reissue the original check if it is $10 or more. If the reissued check is not cashed within 180 days, the funds go back to the Plan and cannot be reissued again. Checks under $10 cannot be reissued.

Reimbursement Method:

  • All reissued checks will be issued using your current reimbursement method. If you have direct deposit, the reissued check will be deposited into your account.
  • All participants are encouraged to set up Direct Deposit on your FSAFEDS account for convenience.
